What is an enzyme peel?

Dead skin cells are held together on the skin's surface by protein bonds. Enzymes such as papain, a protein-dissolving enzyme from papaya, break down exactly these bonds. The dead cells are released without needing to be rubbed off.

  • Enzyme peel: works chemically through enzymes, very gently and without friction.
  • Mechanical scrub: works with grains that rub the skin, which can irritate sensitive skin.
  • Acid peel: works with fruit acids such as glycolic acid, often more intensively. Our formulas combine enzymes and acids for a balanced effect.

The benefits of an enzyme peel

  • Gentle: no friction, therefore suitable for sensitive skin too.
  • Refining: the complexion appears smoother, more even and more radiant.
  • Clarifying: excess sebum and impurities are released, and the pores appear finer.
  • Preparing: serums and creams penetrate the freshly exfoliated skin better.

Our enzyme peels

  • Beta-Enzyme: the enzyme-acid peel with the papain enzyme complex Peelmoist, alpha and beta hydroxy acids, allantoin and panthenol. Refines the complexion intensively. Available in 30, 50 and 100 ml.
  • ContinueLine Enzyme Specialist: the gentle enzyme peel with papain, fruit acid, allantoin and panthenol. Ideal for sensitive skin and for the time after aesthetic treatments. Available in 50 and 100 ml.
  • Enzyme Cleansing Booster: the enzyme powder for daily cleansing with Zymo Clear MD, kaolin, niacinamide, ectoin and vitamin C glucoside. Foams up with water and gently exfoliates every day.

How to use your enzyme peel

  • OPEN: after cleansing, apply the Beta-Enzyme or the Enzyme Specialist to the face, leave on as directed and rinse off thoroughly with warm water. The Enzyme Cleansing Booster replaces your cleanser morning and evening.
  • TREAT: then apply a serum, for example from our collection anti-aging serum. The freshly exfoliated skin absorbs the actives particularly well.
  • CLOSE: finish with your cream.
  • During the day: exfoliated skin reacts more sensitively to UV light. Always protect it with our face sunscreen.

You will find our complete peeling range, including fruit acid peels and a body peel, in our collection peeling. Men will find an overnight peel tailored to men's skin in our collection men's facial care.

Frequently asked questions about enzyme peels

  • What does an enzyme peel do?
An enzyme peel gently dissolves dead skin cells, refines the complexion and makes the skin more receptive to subsequent care. The skin appears smoother and more radiant.
  • How often should I use an enzyme peel?
Follow the instructions for each product. The Enzyme Cleansing Booster is suitable for daily use. With the Beta-Enzyme and the Enzyme Specialist, sensitive skin should start with less frequent applications and increase gradually.
  • Is an enzyme peel suitable for sensitive skin?
Yes, because it works without friction. The ContinueLine Enzyme Specialist is specifically formulated for sensitive skin. You will find more gentle care in our collection skincare for sensitive skin. If your skin is acutely red, wait until it has calmed down and use our cream for redness in the meantime.
  • Can I use an enzyme peel after aesthetic treatments?
Only once the skin is no longer red, tight or flaking. The Enzyme Specialist is the gentle choice to start with. You will find suitable aftercare in our collection skincare after laser, peels & Botox.
  • What is an enzyme powder?
An enzyme powder is a cleansing powder with enzymes that foams up with water. It cleanses and gently exfoliates in one step. Our enzyme powder is the Enzyme Cleansing Booster.
