The internationally active makeup artist and skincare expert takes on the newly created role of Head of Creative Artistry and Celebrities at Medical Beauty Research, aiming to further elevate the brand within the global luxury and celebrity sphere.
Aue-Bad Schlema, Germany — September 2026

Aue-Bad Schlema, September 15, 2026. He has done makeup for Jane Fonda, Princess Charlène of Monaco, and Annie Lennox; his work has appeared in Vogue, ELLE, and Harper's Bazaar; and for many years, he has accompanied international actors and German film crews on the industry's red carpets. Now, Karim Sattar is joining Medical Beauty Research (MBR). As Head of Creative Artistry and Celebrities, he is responsible for the creative presentation of the brand and the development of its relationships with international personalities, artists, and key opinion leaders. This newly created position is a core component of the company's international growth and brand strategy.
For Sattar, a makeup artist choosing a skincare brand that operates at the frontier of medicine is a highly logical step:
“Beauty begins with healthy skin. Making MBR's expertise visible on international stages is a task I am very much looking forward to.”
— Karim Sattar, Head of Creative Artistry and Celebrities, Medical Beauty Research
MBR develops its formulations in collaboration with dermatologists and experts in aesthetic medicine, and has been manufacturing exclusively in Germany for over 25 years. With around 200 products and treatment systems, the company is now firmly established as an international provider in the medical luxury skincare segment. The brand is represented in over 30 countries—from New York to London to Monaco—and is primarily used in aesthetic practices, specialized skin institutes, and spas. The product line is now also available through the brand's own online shop. Stefan Kalmund, CEO of Medical Beauty Research, states:
“Skincare has been moving toward medicine for years. We operate exactly on this boundary. In Karim Sattar, we have found someone who can communicate this standard to the outside world without oversimplifying it.”
— Stefan Kalmund, CEO of Medical Beauty Research
Sattar brings more than 25 years of experience in the cosmetics industry. Most recently, he served as Global Senior Artist and Pro Face at UND GRETEL, as well as Global Communications Expert and Brand Ambassador for PRIMAVERA. Prior to that, he spent over nine years as an international makeup artist and trainer for Dr. Hauschka, alongside holding international leadership and expert roles for The Body Shop across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. At MBR, in addition to brand presentation, he will oversee the company's presence at international film and celebrity events, as well as its involvement with awards in the beauty, health, innovation, and sustainability sectors.
